BRUCK’LYN BIO

In 1980, at just ten years old, Joern Kocken aka BRUCK'LYN, stole a KRAFTWERK album from a local record shop in his hometown Krefeld, (Germany) in an attempt to impress his much older friends.

"I stole this particular album because I liked the cover and the intriguing name 'Mensch Maschine. I had no idea what kind of music to expect when I got home and played it. Growing up, I was surrounded by the typical '70s disco music my parents enjoyed.“

When I played the first song on “Mensch Maschine”, I was stunned. The entire sound of the album was unlike anything I had ever heard. I fell in love with it instantly and from that day I was into electronic music of all kinds. Many years later, I discovered that one of Kraftwerk's founding members, Ralf Hütter, was from my hometown and lived just a few kilometers away. What a coincidence."

This pivotal experience sparked BRUCK'LYN's musical journey, leading him to bands heavily influenced by Kraftwerk, such as Depeche Mode, Jean Michel Jarre, New Order, and later, Massive Attack, Moderat, and Odesza. These artists remain among his favorites.

Despite his deep interest in electronic music, it took him decades to start producing his own songs, having first pursued a successful career as a businessman in the health industry.

After living abroad for over ten years in countries like the United States, UK, Dominican Republic, and Greece, he has spent the last five years commuting between Germany and Spain.

“My years abroad had a lasting impact on both my personality and my music” BRUCK’LYN states.

Ending a successful business career and entering the music industry without any prior experience was a huge step for BRUCK'LYN. However, to fulfill his lifelong dream, he was ready to work hard, learn quickly, and take significant risks.

BRUCK'LYN's music is hard to categorize, blending elements of Trance, Progressive House, EDM, Classic House and Techno. His tracks are always danceable and imbued with a positive message.

"I enjoy experimenting with AI-generated voices, but collaborating with a human singer is great too."

As a self-publishing artist, BRUCK'LYN handles every aspect of his work independently. "Everything you hear or see with the name BRUCK'LYN on it was created entirely by me. No label, no manager, no agency—it's all 100% BRUCK'LYN."

BRUCK'LYN is always in pursuit of his dreams and constantly challenges himself to try new things every day. Since launching his career in December 2023 (at the age of 53), his music has reached a global audience. In over 210 countries, people dance to BRUCK'LYN's tunes. Despite his relatively short career, he has already achieved four consecutive No. 1 hits in the "Hypeddid Trance, Progressive House, and EDM charts with his songs "BREATHE", "A.I. Will Save Us All", “When They Go Low We Go High” and his latest release “Flying Blind” (feat. Emy Smith).

As of now (October ‘24) BRUCK’LYNs music has been streamed over 4 million times on all streaming and video platforms and was recognized by local and international magazines (Germany, UK, US, Spain).

He has also been featured as guest in Podcasts, Music Shows and numerous radios stations worldwide.

Not bad for an artists who only just recently went from “boardroom to beat drops”.
